A typical Tukitate-fude. It is said that the name of the brush originated from Gyokuran, the wife of Ikeno Taiga. It is also called Maruyama-fude in the Kansai area. This brush is used for Japanese painting, black ink painting, and calligraphy. Brown horse belly hair is wrapped around the core of the bristle, allowing for excellent watercolor containment.
